Fire Safety Equipment

Fire Safety Equipment point to devices and equipment that ensures people ample time to get to safety when a fire breaks out. Every structure is required by law to provide these safety equipment  to ensure no casualties when a fire breaks out.

Fire safety equipment a structure is required to have are:

Fire Extinguishers- these are the big cans of water or chemical that help you contain a small flame or help lessen the spread of fire, until professional help comes along.

Fire Extinguisher box, holders and stands- Fire Extinguishers may be overlooked and at times misplaced when not designated a place that is easily seen by people. Having a bright red box that stands out in any corridor serves as constant reminder where a safety equipment is available. Fire Extinguisher conspicuously put at the back of a door or at an indistinct corner will be easily forgotten during a fire.

Fire Alarms- fire alarms are devices meant to  spread the word that there is a fire happening in your vicinity. A fire alarm also serves as an early warning device, sounding off at the start giving people enough time and warning to get out.

Smoke Detectors- are the first line of defense any structure has. Fires in large unsupervised places which have smoke detectors stand a better chance of being protected. Smoke detectors detect either smoke, emissions and CO2 and depending on the system, automatically initiates a sprinkler system that douses fire.

Safety signs and notices- in large areas with a population to match, improper or no posting of fire exit signs and notices one of the reasons why people lose their lives, aimlessly running around in panic while they search for a fire exit.

Not being able to predict when and where fire starts is no reason no to have proper safety equipment in the home, school, buildings and offices. Any structure put up for residential or business that observe strict compliance in having the proper fire safety equipment have a better chance of having survivors and minor injuries during a fire.
